Portfolio Reviews

Submit your portfolio for the chance to get advice on my YouTube channel!

The rules:

  1. I will be treating this like an actual job application. This will be for an imaginary job at my imaginary company. I’ll use the same rules and rationale as the real world to review your portfolio layout, story-telling and narrative, and the work within it.

  2. Of the multiple portfolios I review in one video, I will choose one applicant to “hire”.

  3. Please explicitly state what type of design job you are “applying for” within the email and what level of experience it requires (intern, junior, middleweight etc.). I work at a design consultancy, and my critique will naturally be biased towards that environment over in-house jobs.

  4. First impressions really count - make sure it’s the best it can be before submitting it! You must watch my previous reviews on YouTube to implement the advice I gave to others before making your own portfolio. I won’t be giving basic advice again!

  5. Your CV and portfolio should be submitted as PDF documents. The maximum file size is 10 mb.

  6. Use XXXXX in place of all personal information that you don’t want to be shared online. I will not blur out personal data. Please explicitly confirm in your email that you are happy that any personal data in the PDF documents can be shown.

  7. You must own the rights to all content uploaded.

  8. Failure to meet these rules would prove that you can’t follow instructions and won’t be considered for the “job”.
