Viture

A project that I lead during my time at LAYER. Super-slim, lifestyle-driven smart glasses that display a 120-inch virtual screen in front of the user via the eyewear lenses, allowing them to stream media and game discreetly anywhere without the need for bulky physical screens such as televisions, laptops, tablets or mobile devices.

2020

LAYER

In early 2020 I became a Designer as part of the LAYER design team founded by Benjamin Hubert.

Encore

Encore is my showcase of how curtains can play a fundamental role in how one experiences light, through control or enhancement. The Encore Table Light’s elegant design features a double exposed diffuser allowing for versatile use.

2019

Weight

The first product sold under my name, Weight is an ambient light with a 360-degree glow designed on Gantri. This short light can be placed on shelves and hard to reach places, as well as in the middle of the room.

The sphere appears to have fallen onto the base and has deformed the shape. I wanted to play with how heavy a design can make light look, and how soft a design can make plastic look.

2018

Youtube

I began to realise that I wanted to say more than I could in a single Instagram post. I decided to make a Youtube to communicate with other designers on a broader scale.

I make videos that break down my design process including tutorials, walk-throughs, and how-tos. I also share my thoughts on the wider world of design, and give tips for people breaking into the industry.

Precipice Design

Designing great products, brands and business strategy is more than having the right features, latest technologies and coolest look. It’s mastering the emotional and cultural meanings that drive consumer behaviour.

Sam Does Design

I bought my first iPad and created my first post on the sam_does_design Instagram page in 2016. I haven’t put my phone down since.

Paul Cocksedge Studio

Paul Cocksedge Studio was founded in 2004 by Paul Cocksedge and Joana Pinho. With a strong and dedicated team of collaborators, the Studio has won national and international acclaim for its original and innovative design, underpinned by research into the limits of technology, materials and manufacturing processes.

I worked at Paul Cocksedge Studio for a total of eight months, ensuring that projects were designed, built, and installed correctly. I also got the opportunity to visit Seoul to install the Bourrasque piece in the 9 Lights 9 Rooms exhibition.

Brunel University London

Class of ‘17 at Brunel University London. I was part of the Made in Brunel team - a student-led collaborative that connected students with industry via networking events and exhibitions.

What was my role at Made in Brunel? Social Media Manager. I loved Instagram and the rest is history.
